Abbas Akhoundi: Institutionalized Discrimination Agonizes the Spirit of Youth

1 Min Read

Abbas Akhoundi says institutionalized discrimination torments the spirit of the youth.

Abbas Akhoundi wrote in the Etemad newspaper that 44 years after the revolution, we open our eyes and see that elites are leaving Iran in groups.

Yet, we do not consider that institutionalized discrimination, which has now become unchangeable principles of the system, torments the spirit and psyche of the youth.

Let us ponder for a moment: if this discrimination had not been practiced from the start, would the governance system have deteriorated to such an extent in terms of general knowledge, inefficiency, and moral and behavioral corruption that the youth see no future for themselves in this country?

We must honestly admit that we did not see these issues. This pen believes that the future of Iran depends on national politicians synergizing and coming to a consensus to sincerely recount the misguided paths taken and commit to the necessity of returning to the rule of law and absolute adherence to the constitution of the Islamic Republic.
