Abtahi's political activism will be a catalyst for people's empowerment by breaking the barriers

Removing political activists from house arrest will create an important symbol of kindness and provide the grounds for people’s participation.

Mohammad Ali Abtahi, a reformist political activist, wrote on the twenty-fifth of Bahman this year that it has been the fourteenth year since our dear Sheikh, Mehdi Karroubi, our dear engineer, Sadegh Kharrazi, and our dear Zahra Rahnavard have been under house arrest.

If the issue of house arrest is resolved, it will be a significant sign of hearts becoming kinder and provide the grounds for people’s participation.

Even for people’s participation in elections, the best course of action is for the parliament to take charge. When the parliament is significant and participation is possible, it should be announced that the chronic and unresolved problems of the country, such as political house arrest, foreign policies, and crippling sanctions, or the filtering issue that society is entangled in, will be handed over to the future parliament. To encourage participation, there must be a reason to participate.
