Former US national team player’s advice on the game against Iran

A former US national football team player asked the team’s coach to make changes to the lineup for the match against Iran.

The US national football team earned two points from their first two matches in the 2022 Qatar World Cup against England and Wales. The draws in both matches have made it necessary for the US to win against Iran in the final match to advance to the knockout stage from Group B.

Clint Dempsey, a former US national football team player, urged Gregg Berhalter, the coach of the Yankees, to make changes to the team’s lineup to secure a win against Iran.

Dempsey said, ‘I think we should put our best players on the field. To do this, in my opinion, place Timothy Weah as the number 9 and bring Aaronson into the lineup.’

Weah was in the starting lineup for both previous matches, but Aaronson played as a substitute for the US.
