Afghan migrants in Pakistan live in hiding out of fear of deportation

Afghan migrants residing in Pakistan have hidden in their homes out of fear of being deported and sent back to Afghanistan

At least 1.7 million Afghan migrants without residency documents live in Pakistan, who have been targeted for forced deportation since October of last year

According to some reports, since Pakistan began implementing the forced deportation plan of Afghan migrants last October, it has returned about 600,000 Afghan citizens, labeled as undocumented foreigners, to their country. As a result, at least one million undocumented Afghans are hiding in Pakistan

Earlier, some reports indicated that Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior had ordered all related provincial departments to identify the residence locations of groups of Afghan migrants and refugees and to check what type of migration card they possess
