Iran and Saudi foreign ministers agree to meet bilaterally during Ramadan

The foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia spoke for the second time in a week and plan to finally meet during Ramadan.

The official Saudi Press Agency reported that during this call, considering the trilateral agreement signed with the presence of the People’s Republic of China, a number of common issues were discussed and reviewed. The two ministers agreed to hold a bilateral meeting during Ramadan.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed that Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Faisal bin Farhan discussed the upcoming meeting during a phone call on Sunday and intend to meet during Ramadan.

This year, Ramadan began on Thursday, March 23, 2023, and will end on April 21.

Reopening the embassies of the two countries has been one of the first topics raised in the negotiations.
