The United States has requested access to earthquake-stricken areas in Syria.
The United States has joined requests for granting access to humanitarian relief efforts in areas of Syria controlled by opposing groups to assist earthquake victims.
Following severe earthquakes in Turkey and Syria last week, more than 35,000 people have lost their lives in these two countries, with at least 4,300 deaths reported in Syria alone.
Bashar al-Assad, the President of Syria, has also been asked to authorize widespread access for sending humanitarian aid.
