The United States destroyed a missile prepared for launch by Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that they intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile that was intended to be fired from an area controlled by the Houthis in Yemen towards ships in the Red Sea, in a defensive operation.
According to CENTCOM’s report, this action took place on Wednesday, February 12th.
CENTCOM stated that in a separate incident, an anti-ship ballistic missile was launched from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen towards the Gulf of Aden.
The US military added that the missile was tracked by US Navy vessels, but no action was taken as it was not predicted to come into proximity with any ships.
Furthermore, there have been no reports of casualties or damages to the ships present in the area.
