Amir Ghalenoei’s responsibility with the senior national team is not to develop players.
If conditions were ready and relations were good, 90 percent of our coaches would be coaching in Europe.
The head coach of Iran’s national football team attended the send-off ceremony for the under-17 national football team to the World Cup.
Ghalenoei said, ‘I have been saying for the past 15 years that they should believe in Iranians. Examples are Vahid Shamsaei and Hossein Abdi. If conditions were ready and relations were good, 90 percent of our coaches would be coaching in Europe.’
Yahya Golmohammadi’s advancement to the Asian final is not an easy task. The presence of Taremi in Porto, Jahanbakhsh in Feyenoord, and Azmoun in Rome is the result of the work of these coaches. From now on, I urge you to have plans for the youth and hope teams. Nabi knows what conditions we went through with the hope team, which I will recount someday. I thank the technical staff and management of the youth team once for qualifying for the World Cup and once for building a strong foundation.
Building a strong foundation is the responsibility of the youth teams. We should act like Japan, which has two teams.
