Amir Maghare, the singer of the Macan Band, was arrested.
Media in Iran report the arrest of Amir Maghare, the 26-year-old singer of the Macan Band. According to these reports, he was arrested on Sunday, December 18, after being summoned to the Evin Court. Upon his presence at the courthouse, Maghare handed over his personal belongings to his companions as per the prosecutor’s order and was transferred to the detention center.
The reason for the arrest of this young singer has not been officially announced yet. However, it seems that the negative reaction of the Macan Band to the Minister of Culture’s request to hold a concert and the declaration of the band members’ support for the people’s protests may have been the reason for Amir Maghare’s arrest.
