Amir Maghareh, the singer of the Macan Band, was arrested.

Media in Iran report the arrest of Amir Maghareh, the 26-year-old singer of the Macan Band. According to these reports, he was detained on Sunday, December 18th, following a summons to the Evin courthouse. Upon his presence at the courthouse, Maghareh handed over his personal belongings to his companions on the orders of the prosecutor and was transferred to the detention center.

The reason for the arrest of this young singer has not yet been officially announced. However, it seems that the negative reaction of the Macan Band to the Minister of Culture’s request to hold a concert and the group’s declared support for the people’s protests were the reasons for Amir Maghareh’s summons and arrest.
