An Open Letter from Environmental Activists to Concerned Physicians about the Current Conditions

Environmental activists’ open letter to concerned physicians

A group of environmental activists in open letters to Masoud Pezeshkian regarding the appointment of a new head for the Environmental Protection Organization have expressed deep concerns about the current situation due to the delay in announcing the presidency of the environmental protection organization and the news published.

According to the Shargh newspaper, these activists have warned that under the influence of political issues or the influence of individuals who have previously held the position of head of this organization, someone outside the specialized framework may be selected as the head of this specialized organization.

The authors of this letter have stated that they demand the selection of individuals with experience from within the body of the environmental organization.

In another section, it is also written that we emphasize that the selection of non-specialist and political individuals under the influence of profit-sharing currents, which undoubtedly your initiative has disappointed them, has been one of the main reasons for the decline of environmental protection in Iran in the past few decades, and we are concerned about the repetition of this trend and the hidden influence of political managers and former officials of this organization.
