Once again, a fuel carrier from the Baloch community lost their life

According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, on the evening of Monday, December 12, 2022, two Baloch fuel carriers lost their lives due to a car accident and vehicle fire in Dashtyari County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

The report does not mention further details, but the identities of the two Baloch fuel carriers were stated as Khalil Sheikh, son of Lalbakhsh, and Mehrzad Tajazaei, son of Shafimohammad, from the village of Regiti, a part of Dashtyari.

The Revolutionary Guards and border forces consistently shoot at fuel carriers, even for carrying just a few gallons of fuel. In recent years, the killing of fuel carriers in Iran’s border regions has also led to the formation of social protests.

According to published statistics in 2021, at least 87 fuel carriers lost their lives while transporting fuel due to shootings by officers or accidents, and 31 others were injured.

Among the deceased, three were children under the age of 18.
