Ensieh Khazali, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, stated that the women’s prison ward had suitable living and hygiene conditions for the inmates, and she witnessed something similar to dormitories in some of the country’s universities.
She mentioned that for the detainees, there was an opportunity for outdoor activities from morning till evening, and besides all this, their letters and requests were received, and those who wanted release on bail or conditionally would have their cases followed up.
Recently, reports about the poor condition of female political prisoners have been published.
Previously, Atena Daemi, a human rights activist and former political prisoner, had reported in a series of tweets about the unfavorable conditions of Ward 209 of Evin Prison, based on personal accounts.
Molavi Abdolhamid also recently tweeted that the accounts confirm assaults on female prisoners.
