Antonio Guterres: Earth’s vital signs are in the process of destruction
Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, once again warned about the consequences of climate change and called for fundamental actions to stop the resulting dangers on the second day of the COP28 summit in Dubai.
He stated that recent droughts and forest fires have shown that Earth’s vital signs are in the process of destruction.
These statements were echoed by King Charles III of Britain.
The annual United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP28, began yesterday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is scheduled to continue its work over the next two weeks with the participation of leaders from various countries around the world.
King Charles III of Britain told the participants of this conference that climate change is no longer a distant threat.
He mentioned that natural disasters have had an impact on the vulnerable lives of people in small island regions, particularly in many areas of India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, and they have witnessed unprecedented floods.
In another part of his speech, King Charles III of Britain said that he personally made several attempts to emphasize that the rapid restoration and unique revival of nature are vital for the survival of humanity.
