Araqchi to Lavrov: The insecurity of the Strait of Hormuz is a direct result of America’s unfaithfulness
Iranian media reported that Abbas Araqchi, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, met and discussed with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Kyrgyzstan.
In this meeting, Araqchi described the current insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz as a direct result of America’s unfaithfulness and stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, having shown seriousness in diplomacy, is determined to defend its national interests and security and to prevent the United States from exploiting the Strait of Hormuz to threaten Iran’s national security.
The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister also had separate conversations with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Oman yesterday.
