Araghchi: Trump’s economic day is a cover for America’s internal crises

Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, described Donald Trump’s threat to launch a broad economic day campaign against Iran as an attempt to cover up America’s internal crises, citing unprecedented debt and rising interest costs as examples of these crises.

On Thursday morning, Trump announced that he would launch the most crushing economic operation in history against Tehran and its economic partners.

Araghchi wrote on the X network that what he called American economic terrorism threatens the sovereignty of countries and the global economy, adding that the continuation of failed policies will only lead to more defeats and increase hostility and resentment among Iranians.
