Araghchi warned about the use of US bases in Italy
Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, discussed bilateral relations and regional developments with his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Araghchi described hosting US military bases and any cooperation in operations against Iran as a dangerous act and said host governments would bear international responsibility for the consequences of such cooperation.
He also attributed the rise in global fuel and commodity prices to the US and Israel’s war against Iran and emphasized Tehran’s readiness to use diplomacy. Tajani also called for greater efforts by all parties to reduce tensions.
