Araqchi: There is no information about an attack on the Prime Minister’s office of the region from Iranian soil
Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, in a conversation with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, stated that there is no information indicating that the recent attack on the office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq originated from Iranian soil.
According to Iranian media reports, the two sides discussed the recent attack on Masrour Barzani’s office and its security implications during this call.
Iran newspaper quoted Araqchi as saying there is no information indicating that these attacks started from inside Iran.
Fuad Hussein also described this attack as a dangerous precedent and warned about its consequences for the security of Iraq and the region.
Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, confirmed this morning that a drone attack targeted his office and held Iran responsible for the attack.
Barzani wrote on the X network that the information and investigations of the Kurdistan Region’s anti-terrorism department confirm that my personal office and the residence of the head of the Parastin organization, the region’s intelligence agency, were targeted by Iranian drone attacks today.
