Araghchi has halted the Tehran’s indirect negotiations with the U.S. mediated by Oman.
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced during his trip to Muscat that Tehran has stopped the indirect negotiations with the U.S. mediated by Oman.
On Monday, October 15, Abbas Araghchi said the Muscat process has been halted due to the specific regional conditions, and Tehran currently sees no grounds for these talks until we overcome the ongoing crisis.
The Foreign Minister’s reference in Masoud Pezeshkian’s government apparently pertains to Iran’s anticipation of Israel’s military response following the missile attack by the Islamic Republic of Iran against Israel on October 2.
Mr. Araghchi stated that Oman has always played a positive role in conveying messages between Iran and the U.S., and this process also existed in the previous government, known as the Muscat process.
He added that after overcoming the current specific regional conditions, Tehran will decide whether to engage in new activities, how to proceed, or not to proceed at all. He did not mention any potential subjects for new activities.
