Araqchi’s speech was canceled following intense protests in Washington
Following reactions and protests, the Islamic Republic’s representation at the United Nations announced that the Monday speech of Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, at the Carnegie International Nuclear Policy Conference has been canceled.
The Islamic Republic’s representation expressed regret over the cancellation of this speech.
Earlier, Mark Wallace, CEO of the United Against Nuclear Iran organization, called the invitation to Abbas Araqchi to speak at the Carnegie International Nuclear Policy Conference in Washington a disgrace and demanded that the invitation be withdrawn.
In a statement, Wallace declared that Araqchi was a member of the Quds Force, a force whose hands are stained with the blood of Americans.
He went on to describe Araqchi as a smiling face of a bloodstained regime, saying this is the same regime that sought to assassinate Donald Trump and is now trying to deceive the global community with a misleading appearance.
Araqchi’s speech was supposed to be held virtually.
