Arrest of 282 people accused of links to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in Turkey
Over the past five days in Turkey, at least 282 people have been arrested on charges of links to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party PKK, whose activities are banned in this country.
According to Ali Yerlikaya, Turkey’s Minister of Interior, these individuals are accused of providing financial support to the PKK, recruiting members, distributing the party’s propaganda, and participating in violent street protests.
Yerlikaya stated that these arrests took place in 51 provinces of Turkey, and during the raids, two Kalashnikov machine guns and several other weapons were discovered and seized.
