Arrest of 282 people accused of links with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in Turkey
In the past five days in Turkey, at least 282 people have been arrested on charges of links with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), whose activities are banned in the country.
According to Ali Yerlikaya, Turkey’s Interior Minister, these individuals are accused of providing financial support to the PKK, recruiting members, distributing the party’s propaganda, and participating in violent street protests.
Yerlikaya stated that these arrests took place in 51 provinces in Turkey, and during the raids, two Kalashnikov rifles and several other weapons were discovered and seized.
