An Iraqi arrested for plotting an attack on Taylor Swift concert

Austrian security officials announced on Friday, August 10, that an 18-year-old Iraqi youth was arrested on Thursday for planning a suicide attack at Taylor Swift’s concert in Vienna.

According to French news agency, citing Omar Hajiawi Pirchner, head of Austria’s Information and Security Department, the main suspect is a 19-year-old Austrian who confessed to planning an attack using explosives and a knife. The second suspect is a 17-year-old Austrian of Turkish and Croatian descent, who had recently been hired by a service company tasked with organizing Taylor Swift’s concert at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer commented on the revelation of the bombing and suicide attack plans at Taylor Swift’s concert, stating that specific and detailed plans for a bloodbath were in place.

It was estimated that this music concert was expected to generate around 100 million euros in revenue and bring together 170,000 fans of the famous American singer at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.
