Arrest of Reza Mohammad Hosseini after Criticizing the Revolutionary Guards

Reports from Iran indicate that Reza Mohammad Hosseini, a former political prisoner, was arrested a few days after calling for the Revolutionary Guards to be declared a terrorist organization.

A knowledgeable source close to his family told the Hrana news agency that Mr. Mohammad Hosseini was arrested by the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence.

Last Thursday, April 27, Mr. Mohammad Hosseini said in a video recorded in front of the Sarallah headquarters that the Revolutionary Guards should be placed on the terrorist list due to widespread suppression, kidnapping, blatant violence against Iranians, and crimes against humanity.

The Human Rights Organization in Iran wrote about him, stating that this civil activist was released on February 15, 2024, under the judiciary’s directive known as the Leader’s Amnesty, while serving part of his 7-year mandatory prison sentence.

In this report, he is described as a constitutionalist civil activist.
