Attack on Kurdish center in Paris leads to clashes with police
Following the deadly attack on a Kurdish cultural center, which was accompanied by street protests, thousands of people took to the streets again on Saturday, December 24.
Representatives of Kurdish groups, left-wing parties, anti-racism groups, and others gathered at Place de la République to honor the victims of this attack.
Some participants chanted slogans against the Turkish government.
On the sidelines of the demonstration, which was mainly peaceful, clashes with the police occurred. Demonstrators responded by throwing objects at the police, who used tear gas.
At least four vehicles were overturned, and one of them was set on fire. Trash bins were also set ablaze, and bus stops were vandalized.
In Marseille, Kurds also took to the streets, and clashes with the police occurred in this major city in southern France as well.
