Australian Foreign Minister: Israel should heed its friends’ calls for restraint
Penny Wong, the Australian Foreign Minister, confirmed that some of the country’s citizens were among those who left Gaza through the Rafah crossing yesterday.
In a message to Israel, she said the international community does not accept the killing of civilians, so when Israel’s friends call for the country to show restraint and protect civilian lives, it is crucial for Israel to heed this request.
Ms. Wong also said this is important for Israel’s own security, which faces serious threats due to the widespread conflict.
