Ayatollah Sistani’s Emphasis on Rescuing Enslaved Yazidi Women
Ayatollah Sistani: We cannot forget all the communities that have been harmed by the crimes of ISIS terrorists, and the crimes of ISIS were aimed at destroying Iraq’s culture and its social diversity.
The Shiite authority of Iraq stated that without this decisive victory, pursuing ISIS elements and punishing them for the crimes they committed against Iraqis, especially the crimes of murder, captivity, sexual assault, rape, and also the destruction of Iraq’s ancient artifacts, would not have been possible.
Efforts to free Turkmen and Yazidi women from captivity by this terrorist organization in Syria and taking effective steps to compensate its victims, especially the displaced and refugees, are necessary, and we are grateful to the United Nations and its efforts.
