The deposited debt of Babak Zanjani was 2 billion dollars.
Today, the Central Bank announced in a statement that Babak Zanjani’s foreign currency assets have been deposited into the Central Bank’s treasury. Investigations into the amount deposited into the Central Bank’s account indicate that the total value of the foreign assets introduced by Babak Zanjani is about four to five billion dollars, and now two billion dollars of this amount has been deposited into the Central Bank’s foreign currency account.
This operation was carried out by Babak Zanjani’s lawyers after selling the assets abroad and transferring the currency to the Central Bank.
The total debt of Babak Zanjani was two billion eight hundred million dollars. A portion of this amount, that is, one billion three hundred million dollars, was settled after the seizure of Babak Zanjani’s assets within the country.
Sourin Holding and Qeshm Airlines were among his assets. One billion five hundred million dollars of his debt remained, and after several years, updating this debt increased his total debt to two billion dollars.
