Baqaei rejected the claim of Iran’s interference in Yemen; Tehran called for a halt to attacks and lifting of the blockade.
Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, dismissed the claim by Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, regarding Iran’s involvement in the Saudi-Yemen conflict and denied reports of Iranian military experts being present in Yemen. He accused the European Union of participating in the sanctions and blockade of Yemen and being complicit in human rights violations in the country. Baqaei stated that attacks on residential areas, civilian facilities, and Yemen’s infrastructure have resulted in over 270 deaths, including 130 women and children, and more than 650 injuries. He considered the immediate cessation of attacks, the complete lifting of the naval and aerial blockade, and respect for the Yemeni people’s right to self-determination as essential for establishing peace. Baqaei also said that Iran is ready to assist in advancing talks based on the roadmap agreed upon by the Yemeni and Saudi parties.
