Bank Saderat, Victim of Spoils Division
These days, after the change at the top of Bank Saderat and the vacancy of the CEO position, and on the other hand, the competition to seize this position, this bank is at the top of the news.
While Ghorban Eskandari, from within the bank’s board of directors, was appointed as the acting director and many hoped he would become the CEO, according to the news received, Afshin Khani’s lobbying power has prevailed over Eskandari, and Khani is the final choice for this bank.
Ghorban Eskandari, whose lobbying was mostly supported by Turkish speakers, including Haj Ghodrat Nihad, Shahram Dabiri, and Zonouzi, as well as some representatives, could not maintain his position, and Afshin Khani’s lobby, led by Ali Dary, a former deputy of one of the security agencies, overcame the other competitors’ lobbying.
However, the important point of this competition is the division of spoils among some factions at the expense of the public treasury and Bank Saderat’s shareholders.
In this power struggle, the seats of this bank are being claimed by many individuals, and for example, Saeed Savadkouhi, the CEO of the Kharazmi Group with large subsidiary companies who funded the campaign to undermine Khani and Eskandari’s other rivals, appointed the son of Judge Seraj, without a single day of executive or managerial experience, as his advisor and later as the CEO of Kharazmi Commerce Development Company.
On the other hand, Ghasem Kholousi, despite being retired and claiming connections with security agencies, has been appointed simultaneously as an advisor, the head of security of the holding, and as the CEO of Kharazmi Capital Management Development Company.
It was heard that Savadkouhi has invoiced all these appointments to Ghorban Eskandari and stated that this division of seats was done to activate the lobbying of these individuals.
On the other hand, the invoices that Saeed Savadkouhi issued in Sinadarou Company, Ayandeh Negar Brokerage, Algorithm Financial Group, Sepehr Electricity and Energy Development Company, Parseh Power Station Production and Development Company, and Karand Sadr Jahan Mines and Mineral Industries Company, presented as expenses for undermining Afshin Khani, need to be clarified and addressed.
