Baqaei called the adoption of the resolution against Iran a clear contradiction
Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reacted to the adoption of the resolution by the Board of Governors, saying that Western countries had previously claimed the re-imposition of resolutions against Iran within the framework known as the snapback mechanism, but now their new action shows the contradiction of this claim.
He attributed what is called Iran’s non-compliance to attacks by the United States and Israel, and said that about one-third of the agency’s members voted against or abstained from the resolution.
Baqaei also criticized the positive votes of Japan and Saudi Arabia and claimed that European countries and the United States have pressured some governments to support the resolution. He added that this resolution will not yield any results for its supporters.
