Baghaei: Message exchanges with the US continue, but no final agreement has been reached

Ismail Baghaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, stated that the process of exchanging messages between Tehran and Washington is still ongoing, but no final agreement has been achieved so far.

Referring to the statements of American officials, he emphasized that the Islamic Republic makes decisions based on the interests and rights of the Iranian nation, and no party can speak to Iran with a language of obligation.

Baghaei also considered what the US calls the maritime blockade of Iran as an illegal action and said that this action has been a violation of the ceasefire and international maritime freedom from the beginning.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry added that it must be clearly demonstrated in practice whether the US will stop these restrictions or if we are merely facing a promotional claim.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he said that Iran and Oman, as two coastal and responsible countries, must design mechanisms that ensure both the security and national interests of the two countries are preserved and the safe passage of ships through this waterway is guaranteed.
