Baqaei reacts to Vance’s remarks: America is facing a hunger crisis itself

Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to recent statements by J.D. Vance regarding humanitarian aid, said that America itself is in dire need of solving the hunger issue within its own country.

Baqaei, citing statistics published by American non-governmental organizations, claimed that over 47 million people, including one in every five children in America, are facing food insecurity.

He also sarcastically noted that since the annual report on food insecurity by the U.S. Department of Agriculture stopped being published in September 2024, it seems that the hunger problem in America has been resolved.

These remarks were made in response to recent statements by American officials about how the unfrozen Iranian assets and humanitarian aid are being used.
