Benjamin Netanyahu: Enriched uranium reserves must be removed from Iran
On the eve of the second round of nuclear talks between Iran and the US in Geneva, Benjamin Netanyahu warned that enriched uranium reserves must be removed from Iran.
The Israeli Prime Minister also emphasized that in any agreement with Iran, merely halting enrichment is not enough, and the entire nuclear infrastructure must be dismantled.
Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, in an interview about the idea of removing more than 400 kilograms of uranium enriched over 60%, said it is too early to say what will happen during the negotiations.
He also described Iran’s proposal to dilute 60% enriched uranium reserves as a sign of Tehran’s willingness to compromise.
Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the parliament, said that halting or abandoning uranium enrichment is not on the table in the Iran-US negotiations, and there is no plan to remove nuclear reserves from Iran.
He added that the US has previously accepted these points.
