Blinken: China has promised not to send weapons to Russia

The U.S. Secretary of State, who has traveled to Beijing, says China has promised not to send weapons to Russia in its war against Ukraine.

On Monday, June 19, Antony Blinken, after meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, expressed concerns about China’s potential weapon shipments to Russia, but stated that we and other countries have received assurances from China that it will not provide military aid to Russia.

The U.S. Secretary of State’s visit to China began on Sunday. He is the first senior American diplomat to visit the country in the past five years.

This visit took place amidst a long list of disputes between the world’s two largest economies, which has led to little hope for achieving significant breakthroughs in resolving these differences.
