Blinken on Gaza Ceasefire: The Ball is in Hamas’s Court

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has stated that a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip currently depends solely on Hamas’s agreement.

The U.S. Secretary of State said this on Friday, March 8th (18th of Esfand), before meeting with his Turkish counterpart in Istanbul, noting that they are consulting and focusing on whether a ceasefire in Gaza is achievable.

Blinken had previously urged the Hamas group to accept an immediate ceasefire with Israel.

He also emphasized the importance of establishing more border crossings for the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, stating that Israel should utilize every possible method to deliver aid to those in need.
