Bloomberg: Iran and Oman are discussing a permanent mechanism for traffic control in the Strait of Hormuz.
Bloomberg reported that Iran is negotiating with Oman to establish a type of permanent toll and maritime management system in the Strait of Hormuz, a plan that could formalize Tehran’s control over maritime traffic in this waterway.
Mohammad Aminnejad, Iran’s ambassador to France, told Bloomberg in Paris that Iran and Oman should utilize all their resources to provide security services and navigation management in the best possible way.
These statements come as the United States and Western countries have opposed any new tolls or restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz.
