Borrell: If Putin wins the war, it will not be a victory for American leadership

Josep Borrell, the European Union’s foreign policy chief who has traveled to Ukraine, told AFP that if Putin wins the war, it will not be a victory for American leadership.

He is the first senior EU official to visit Kyiv after Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election.

Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election has caused concern for the Ukrainian government and the European Union because he has consistently criticized U.S. military and financial support for Ukraine.

During his campaign, Trump repeatedly claimed that he could end the Ukraine war in less than 24 hours. He even stated that he could end the Ukraine war before the start of his presidential term on January 20th next year.
