Overturned bus carrying students in Kerman results in 6 deaths

Iranian media have reported that this accident occurred on Thursday, February 7th at 18:30 local time at the Sirch junction. Images from the accident site and rescue workers’ efforts have also been published.

Mohammad Saberi, head of Kerman’s emergency services, says that in this incident, 4 female students, one young boy, and one coach died, and 27 injured have been transferred to medical centers.

According to him, the condition of two of the injured is reported to be critical.

Mohammad Amirkhani, deputy of Kerman’s Red Crescent, has stated that the number of injured in this accident is 35.

Ahmad Karami Asad, head of the traffic police of Faraja, also said that this bus was carrying 38 high school students who were returning to Kerman from a trip to the tourist area of Shahdad.

He stated that the cause of the accident is still unknown and investigations into this incident are ongoing.
