Cancellation of Zarif’s speech at Sharif University

The Islamic Association of Sharif University announced on Monday, June 23, that without defending his candidacy or compromising his previous positions, they intended to invite Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the twelfth government, to Sharif University to keep alive the spirit of political activism and non-inactivity at the university.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Rouhani government has supported Masoud Pezeshkian, a reformist candidate, in the presidential election campaign and has traveled to various cities so far. Zarif has also appeared as a political advisor to Pezeshkian on television programs featuring presidential candidates.

According to students, Zarif was supposed to have a discussion with students about foreign policies, but the association has not been granted permission to hold the program.
