CENTCOM changed its Special Operations Forces commander

The United States Central Command, CENTCOM, has announced a change in its Special Operations Forces commander. According to this change, Rear Admiral Thomas Donovan has replaced Major General Jasper Jeffers.

The change of command ceremony was held on August 14th, corresponding to the 23rd of Mordad, in the city of Tampa, Florida.

CENTCOM’s Special Operations Forces are responsible for planning and executing special missions in an area covering 21 countries in the Middle East, Central Asia, and South Asia.

Jasper Jeffers, who had been commanding this force since June 2024, will continue to serve as the commander of the International Stabilization Force related to the Gaza Peace Plan.

Thomas Donovan was previously the commander of the Special Reconnaissance and Support Command within the structure of the U.S. Special Operations Forces.
