CENTCOM: The Strait of Hormuz is open and Iran has no control over it
The United States Central Command, CENTCOM, announced that the Strait of Hormuz is open for the passage of ships and Iran has no control over this strategic waterway.
CENTCOM wrote in a message on the social network X that safe routes have been established for the passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz, and these routes are available to all vessels that, according to this body, do not violate the blockade against Iran.
This command also claimed that hundreds of ships have passed through these routes in the past two months and that American forces are on alert to counter any potential actions by Iran.
CENTCOM further emphasized that Iran has no control over the Strait of Hormuz.
These remarks are made while the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important energy corridors in the world, has become a focal point of military and security tensions in the region since the beginning of the conflicts between the United States and Israel with Iran.
U.S. President Donald Trump also previously claimed that with Washington’s military support, more than 100 million barrels of oil have been transported through the Strait of Hormuz to global markets.
