The Central Bank Governor: Entering the informal currency market is equivalent to money laundering

Mohammadreza Farzin, the Governor of the Central Bank, said that the Central Bank’s policy is to downsize the informal market. Entering the informal market is equivalent to money laundering and disrupts the economic system.

Previously, by order of the Central Bank Governor, as of today, the allocation of currency to importing companies that purchase currency from the open market before the currency allocation stage has been prohibited.
