Central Bank Enables Payment with Phone Instead of Bank Card in 6 Banks

The Central Bank announced the launch of mobile payments instead of bank cards in 6 banks.

The Central Bank announced the implementation of the ‘Kherba’ plan, which allows transactions to be made using the electronic version of bank cards on POS terminals.

The Central Bank stated that the ‘Kherba’ plan is aimed at diversifying payment tools and upgrading the country’s payment network capacities. Customers can now define their physical bank cards in mobile-based applications.

The Central Bank emphasized that with the implementation of the ‘Kherba’ plan, transactions can be securely conducted using electronic versions of bank cards on POS terminals equipped with the latest technology and standards.

Currently, 6 banks including Keshavarzi, Tejarat, Melli, Ayandeh, and Saderat are covered by this plan, and the number of participating banks is increasing.
