The CEO of Tavanir: We will have power outages this summer

Mohammad Alhaddad, the CEO of Tavanir Company, announced that due to electricity consumption surpassing production capacity, it is not possible to fully supply electricity in the summer, and outages will continue.

In a press conference, he said, ‘I do not claim that we can get through the summer without power cuts.’ According to Alhaddad, to get through peak consumption, about five percent of the country’s electricity demand must be reduced.

The CEO of Tavanir also announced that due to the damages from the recent war, about four thousand megawatts of Iran’s power plant capacity is still out of operation and will not be available this summer.

He added that the limitation on electricity supply in the agricultural, residential, and commercial sectors this spring has decreased by 68 percent compared to the same period last year.
