Chamran sarcastically said, let’s give triggers to the Basijis

Mehdi Chamran, the head of the Tehran City Council, in the council meeting on Sunday, the 6th of Mehr, referred to the international efforts to reinstate sanctions, calling the trigger mechanism mostly a propaganda operation, and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has so far overcome the pressures.

In part of his speech, he sarcastically said, I thought we should bring all the Basijis today and give each of them a trigger to pull and say we pulled the trigger ourselves, but because it was too noisy, we didn’t insist on this matter.

Chamran emphasized that, in his opinion, the trigger mechanism will not create effective practical pressure against Iran, and what the opposing parties are pursuing is more of a propaganda aspect than real efficiency.
