Change of CEO at Bank Maskan

Mojtaba Azizian, who was on the verge of becoming the CEO of Bank Maskan and replacing Ali Khorsandian before the war, faced a delay due to the onset of the conflict. Now, having passed the Central Bank’s exam on his third attempt after failing twice before, he is soon to assume the CEO position at Bank Maskan.

Although the change from Khorsandian, whose performance was criticized by the bank’s staff and customers, has been welcomed, concerns remain about whether Azizian can confront the mafia-like network within Bank Maskan, involving individuals like Aghamalayi and Askarpour, or if he will have to navigate by offering bribes and concessions as previous CEOs like Askari and Khorsandian did, or be removed for opposing them like Shayan and Hosseini.

For many years, the mafia-like network within Bank Maskan has held power, forcing all who sit in the CEO position to comply with their demands. Jafar Aghamalayi, with over a decade of presence on the bank’s board, leads this network.
