Changes in Senior Military Commanders
According to reports from Iran Gate sources, after the 12-day war with Israel, defensive weaknesses have become more apparent to high-ranking military officials, especially at the command level. The main damages during this period were due to weaknesses in the defense system and the poor performance of the air force. Since in recent years, the IRGC Air Force, renamed the IRGC Aerospace Force, has focused on strengthening missile capabilities as its main and special mission directed by the Supreme Command, air force-related issues and missions have been pursued by the army as a special mission.
However, during the war, Israel’s complete control over Iran’s airspace directed criticism towards the army’s air force and the Khatam Air Defense Headquarters. Therefore, serious negotiations with China and Russia have been undertaken to renew the logistics of these two bodies, which suffer from outdated and worn-out equipment, although no tangible achievements have been made. On the command level, the perceived need for change due to the inefficiency of commanders has forced the supreme command to implement changes in force leadership. Reports also suggest a change in the commander of the Ministry of Defense’s Information Protection to repair and rebuild the security gaps that have emerged.
