China and Pakistan Call for End to War and Resumption of Iran-U.S. Talks

China and Pakistan called for an end to the war and the resumption of negotiations between Iran and the United States.

The foreign ministers of China and Pakistan, after meeting in Shanghai, expressed concern over escalating tensions and called for a halt to hostilities and for Iran and the United States to return to the negotiating table.

According to a statement from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar urged all parties involved to immediately cease hostilities and resume dialogue and negotiations.

Both sides also emphasized the necessity of resolving disputes through diplomacy and preventing further escalation of the crisis in the region.
