China condemns Iran’s attacks on Gulf countries and calls for a return to negotiations.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that Foreign Minister Wang Yi has recently contacted the relevant parties and once again communicated with his counterparts in the region through phone calls, calling for peace, an end to hostilities, and a reduction in tensions.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi noted that this is a war that should not have happened, a war that benefits no one. Without United Nations authorization, the United States and Israel attacked Iran during ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, which is clearly a violation of international law. The sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of countries must be respected. China does not support the attacks against Gulf region countries and condemns indiscriminate attacks against civilians or civilian targets. The immediate priority now is the immediate cessation of military operations and the prevention of the escalation of the conflict. The way out of this conflict is to return to dialogue and negotiation as soon as possible and to strive for the restoration of peace. The fundamental solution is a joint return to the right path, adhering to international laws and the basic norms of international relations.
